2 PM – 3 PM:

The advertising ban for vaping products: implications for the e-cigarette sector

From May 2016, the vape sector will face censorship due to the implementation of the European Tobacco Products directive. The new regulation, the details of which are still under discussion, obliges the sector to find alternative ways to engage with vapers: will conventional communication tools, vapers’ meetings (vapéros), fora or personalized contact still be possible? How to prepare for and tackle the advertising ban? Is there still hope for this ban to be withdrawn, seeing as vape has the potential of saving millions of lives?

Challenges for retailers and market consolidation

While 2016 might see a massive growth of vapers, the specialist retailers’ position remains unresolved. Can the vape shops points’ shares continue to grow or will they go down?
